Trump on Cannabis

I think we all can agree that president Trump is quite the character. He’s a polarizing figure and is very outspoken on many matters. One that interests me specifically is his view on marijuana. Given my views on healthcare, I’m always really interested in our president’s view on marijuana. Unlike many presidents before Trump, he is pretty clear on his opinion of marijuana.

Many other presidents have skated around the issue or given vague answers, not knowing which answer would get them the most votes. Trump didn’t take that route. He states his opinion emphatically.

Trumps Opinion of Marijuana

President Trump boldly states that he thinks the Colorado recreational experiment is a bad move. He is not for recreational cannabis use at all. He is adamant about that. But just because he’s against recreational pot doesn’t mean he’s 100% anti-weed. He’s not. He’s what I call a “halfy.” By being on board with medical marijuana but not recreational, he’s halfway on board the green train.

I’m glad he’s at least halfway on board our green train, which is picking up steam everyday. The last thing we need is a president that’s not on board at all. By getting a “halfy,” we live to fight another day. It’s probably much easier to converted a “halfy” than to convert some conservative who’s staunchly against any kind of marijuana use. That’s a tough nut to crack. Thank goodness President Trump isn’t like that.

Will He Abolish Recreational Marijuana?

The chances of Trump doing away with recreational marijuana are pretty much nil. I don’t think he is interested in taking on that battle. The voters voted it in in each state, so they have earned the right to use marijuana in conjunction with the law they voted in. To go behind the voters’ backs and pull the rug out from under their feet would be morally wrong and also unconstitutional. That’s not a battle Trump should take on. He’s got enough on his hands with taunting North Korea and trying to abolish Obamacare. If he tried to get rid of recreational marijuana too, he would end up scrambling around trying to do everything and getting nothing done.

If you live in a recreational marijuana state and are worried about Trump’s anti-rec position, I hope this article helped quell your fears. States have their own rights and democratic processes. The federal government usually respects the unique laws of each state, as long as they’re not hurting anyone. Recreational marijuana has had a positive impact in many areas. It has increased tax revenue and reduces drug-related violence. There’s not really any grounds for overriding state laws. It would come down to opinion since there aren’t many dramatic statistics to backup the opposing view.

Hopefully our next president will be fully aboard our green train which could have profound effects on our nation as a whole. Many people are waiting for someone they revere and respect to speak up in support of marijuana. For many, that person is the president of the United States, but maybe not this time. A lot of people do not respect Trump, but usually the POTUS is one of the most respected men (and hopefully one day a woman) in America.

The Back Pain Epidemic is Real

People are putting down the pharmaceuticals and choosing a healthier route. Exercise!

One of the biggest obstacles that pains our fellow red-blooded Americans is back pain. I’d be willing to go out on a limb and say that it’s afflicting not just Americans, but people all over the world. Since human beings are upright walkers, a lot of stress is put on our lower back.

When we bend down it stresses our back tremendously. If we pickup something heavy, our backs take a beating. Have you ever sat in a chair without holding a good posture? If you have, your back paid the price. The list goes on and on. Given our bipedal nature, it’s really easy to put undue stress and strain on our backs.

A lot of animals walk on all fours. This distributes their weight evenly across their body, preventing their back from shouldering the load. We have a different structure. By walking on two legs, all of the weight from our upper body is supported by our lower back. Our heads are very big and our torsos heavy. This too puts a great deal of strain on our lower back region.

The statistics on back pain are alarming and on the rise. In 1997, 28.1% of people over the age of 18 and under the age of 65 and 29.5% of people 65 and over said that they were experiencing lower back pain problems. In 2013, 29% of 18-65 year olds and 33% of the 65 and over crowd reported experiencing lower back pain (The Good Body).

That’s a pretty hefty increase. Almost a whole point higher for the first age group and FOUR percentage points higher for the senior citizens. I thought we were making medical advances, not declines. Apparently not all things to do with medicine is on the up and up.

Missed Work

Every year, hundreds of millions of people miss work due to injury or illness. Do you know what the biggest cause of disability in the workplace might be? Given the nature of this article, I’m sure you know where I’m going with this.

According to the Global Burden of Disease study, which was published in The Lancet, lower back pain is the number one culprit worldwide. Not just in America but across the globe. That’s serious business and it’s costing the world billions of dollars in hard earned cash and billions more in productivity.

Could you imagine what kind of problems in the world that could be solved with if we could regain all of that woman power? The implications ripple across the world, reducing productivity and skyrocketing healthcare costs.

The Cost

Dealing a bad lower back can be expensive. If you’ve never the felt the kind of pain that people across the globe are feeling, then hope you never will. When you’re in excruciating back pain, you’ll pay anything just to have hope that you may one day be free of pain.

If a treatment has a high success rate and you’re pretty sure it’ll work, our for-profit medical industry will be sure to charge you an arm and a leg. What else would you expect from a capitalistic health care industry? At the end of the day, everyone want’s to earn as much money as possible even if it means they have to take advantage of the needy. Few people are more needy than someone in excruciating pain.

When you’re in pain, life just isn’t the same. You may not have experienced lower back pain, but surely you’ve experienced a terrible pain before. Maybe the flu or a debilitating injury or illness. If you have, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

You can’t think straight when you’re in pain and it’s hard to enjoy the small things in life like taking a walk. Being as productive as you used to be at work is out of the picture. You’d be happy if you could even get the job done. It’s very common for lower back pain to prevent workers from completing their daily tasks. That’s why it’s the number one cause of disability around the world.

What’s just as alarming as the statistics above is the dollar statistics. In America alone, we as a nation spend in excess of $50 billion each and every year in an effort to relieve our lower back pain. That’s enough money to feed a lot of hungry mouths.

Solution: Healthy Habits

There is no one solution to this back bending problem. It’s a multi-faceted problem that will have to be approached from several different angles in order to trim the numbers down. Realistically speaking, we will never be able to get rid of back pain but we can cut the number in half or more. That would be an amazing achievement.

Diet/Lifestyle

It would be easy to checkout of this post once you see the word, “diet.” Most Americans hate diet and I’m one of them. Diets don’t work but lifestyle changes do. If you are as serious as I am about fixing the back pain problem in America, then you should really think about what you’re putting on your plate. An old adage goes as follows, “The fat you eat is the fat you wear.” I believe that to be true. It’s been very true for me at least.

When I eat fatty foods, especially in excess, I always gain weight without fail. When I tone down the junk food and eat more live foods, I always lose weight. Well I’m done dieting since I always revert back to my original eating habits, but for the past 4.5 years I’ve been on a good streak. The reason it’s working for me now is because it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change. A diet is temporary, a lifestyle change is permanent.

Exercise

This is a multifaceted solution because there are several different types of exercises you can do. You can do anaerobic exercises such as lifting weights or strength training. You could also do aerobic exercises that would include anything that you probably know as “cardio.” Lastly, you can do specific exercises that are aimed at stretching the spine and helping it get back to it’s original alignment.

Obviously, you should talk with your doctor before Googling some exercises and doing them blindly. Anything that deals with the spine should be approached with caution. Don’t disregard this message, head the warning. Your spine is a critical part of your body’s infrastructure so you need to take every percausion possible when working with it.

Chiropractor

Seeing a chiropractor is an excellent option. I highly recommend you see your chiropractor as soon as you start to feel any pain. If you catch it early they might be able to free you of your pain with just a couple sessions. You might just need an adjust or some other minor fix. You never know.

Even if they can’t fix it right away or within a couple of visits, they’ll be able to give you a lot of insight into the problem you’re having with your back. Finding out what exactly the problem is can be tough but it’s half the battle. Without the help of you’re chiropractor, it’ll be nearly impossible for your to diagnose the problem accurately due to the complexity of your back. Our backs have a very complex structure.

If you’re like me and don’t know how to select a good chiropractor, then read this article. It helped me a lot and I’m sure it’ll do the same for you if you are open to the suggestions.

Pharmaceuticals

This isn’t really a solution, but I guess I’ll mention it. Tread carefully with this option. If the pain becomes unbearable and over the counter meds aren’t providing enough relief, then you might need to head to your physician to get a prescription. This should be the last resort! If you follow all the other healthy habits on this list, chances are you won’t need this one.

If your physician recommends this even though your pain is manageable, that’s a red flag. I’m not going to touch on the corruption of our pill-obsessed system today but I’ll tear them a new one on a future post.

Conclusion

Did you notice anything unique about all the real solutions? They’re all healthy habits. They’re not one time fixes or magic pills. As Americans, we just need to develop some healthier habits and we could drastically improve our quality of life.

We don’t notice our unhealthy habits until they’ve already caused a major disruption in our lives. Samuel Johnson said it best when he said, “The chains of habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken” (Good Reads). By the time you start feeling excruciating back pain, your habits will really hard to break but not impossible.

I hope this post made a strong enough case for you to consider cultivating some healthier habits in your life. If you’re already having pains, then that’s a great reason to change your habits. If you haven’t begun to feel back pain yet, it would be wise to start making some healthier choices before you do.

Cannabis Businesses Are Becoming Mainstream

We knew it would happen eventually, but we didn’t know it would happen so fast. It’s inevitable that the marijuana industry would become the new norm. It just has to be that way. It only makes sense. With marijuana picking up steam, more people will gain the courage to open up an MMJ business. It’s risky business right now, but it’s becoming the new norm.

The People Have Spoken

We have witnessed the not so good outcome of the pharmaceutical monopoly we’ve had to deal with and we’re not a fan of it. Here at Health Care Drug, we believe that cannabis is for the healing of the nation.

When you look at the research and the facts, it’s clear that it is a legitimate medicine. It can do things that no pharmaceutical drug will ever be able to do. Look at the image on the right and you’ll see a list of ailments that marijuana can effectively treat.

A lot of people have reported feeling relief from various ailments. We did not make this list up. it came from drugpolicy.org. Visit their site and you’ll learn a lot of new things about cannabis. I learn something new every time I visit. We will never know all of the wonderful benefits that marijuana offers. It’s just too vast of a plant to know everything about it.

As long as we keep conducting good research and have a never-ending appetite for knowledge, the truth will continue to peak its head out to say hello.

War On Drugs Lost

The war on drugs is far from over, but it has already been lost. The writing is on the wall. It will take years for the federal government to admit this, but it’s obvious. The amount of money that the government has spent in an effort to police marijuana and other drugs is absolutely absurd.

According to FoxNews, the US has spent over $1 trillion of our tax money to enforce their corrupt laws. Why? It has a lot to do with our current political structure. Some prisons are private and they have lobbying power. They spend millions of dollars every year lobbying against the legalization of marijuana.

That is just one of the reasons we’re still in this horrible position, but it’s not the reason we got here. It all started back when Nixon decided that he wanted to rule with an iron fist, but we’ll save that story for another day.

After 40 years, $1 trillion tax dollars spent, and hundreds of thousands of lives ruined or lost, what are we left with? A drug-free America? Not even close. Drugs are on the streets more now than ever. The war on drugs has been an epic fail. I’m glad it has been a failure. Now that the government realizes that they can’t beat us, they have to join us. That is why we’re seeing a rise in cannabis businesses even though marijuana is still illegal at a federal level. That is the weirdness that is our government. Things can be illegal and legal in the same place at the same time.

Businesses Popping Up Everywhere

All kinds of cannabis companies are starting to pop up. I’ve seen everything from new dispensaries to cannabis software companies. You name it, I’ve seen it. I’ve even thought about starting one myself. I decided not to start a dispensary for a few years. I want to let the dust settle a little first. I’m appreciative for all the brave souls who have gone before me and are currently blazing the path for our citizens. We are forever indebted to you.

I am going a different route. I decided to become an affiliate. I joined several marijuana affiliate programs and have been enjoying the online cannabis market. It’s big, but the in person dispensaries make more money. I will start one eventually, but I don’t have the risk tolerance for it right now. If you accidentally don’t follow one of the strict guidelines, you will get raided by the FBI and will be behind bars.

With cannabis businesses becoming more mainstream, it’s only a matter of time before the federal government is forced to legalize marijuana nationwide. How would it look if over half of the states legalized medicinal or recreational marijuana but the federal government still hasn’t legalized it? That doesn’t sound like a government that represents its citizens very well. It would be a huge blemish on the image our government likes to portray and they’d be forced to legalize cannabis.

The benefits of marijuana are just too plentiful for this miracle plant to stay illegal forever. In time, we will be able to freely use nature’s best medicine.

The Real Scoop On Unethical Commercial Healthcare In America

We need more drugs legalized in the US. Not the kind you’re thinking about. Natural drugs are what will heal the nation.

Pharmaceutical Nightmare

The drugs that are being given to us right now are not good for us. They are highly addictive and do not heal us. The best result is a little temporary relief from your pain. Living a life hooked onto pharmaceuticals is not the way.

There are very few, maybe even zero illnesses that can’t be fixed through your diet. Unnatural drugs are a distraction from what you should be focusing on. We think that synthetic drugs are the only way to fix high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. The list goes on. When you think about it, synthetic drugs don’t fix much. They only treat the symptoms. The only thing that they do a good job with is infections. Those too can be healed with natural methods.

Natural Drugs

The only way to heal yourself is to use natural drugs. The best form of healthcare is living a healthy lifestyle. You can’t depend on for-profit companies to have your best interest at heart. They will always do what they need to do to make their shareholders happy and their pockets fat.

Healing comes from within.
